More than twenty-five EEG research projects and research uptake activities are currently underway.
Our State of Knowledge series developed in year one identified four key areas for future research. Against these themes cross-cutting issues around data, technology, policy and the gender / poverty impact of access were also identified. This led to an initial set of broad research questions which guided three calls for proposals.
More recently the impact of COVID-19 on energy systems became an additional focus, leading to a call for proposals for new research.
Eventually all of these projects will lead to a substantial body of research which addresses the issues surrounding energy in low and middle income countries, and explores the intersections between each of the identified themes and cross-cutting issues.
