Leake Enquay Weldemariam is an Assistant Professor at Mekelle Institute of Technology, Mekelle University (MIT-MU). His focus is on power quality regulation within the Distribution Network, and his research interests include power quality, renewable energy systems, and power electronics and their applications.

He has a BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from MIT, an MSc diploma in Electrical Power Engineering from the TU Delft, Netherlands, and a PhD diploma in Power Quality from the Electrical Energy Systems group of the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands.
