Eugenia Masvikeni
Energy and Environmental Finance Specialist, SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE)

Eugenia Masvikeni joined Southern African Development Community (SADC) Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) as the Renewable Energy Expert responsible for the World Bank funded Accelerating Regional Energy Projects Programme. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. Prior to joining SACREEE she worked as an Independent Energy and Climate Finance Specialist and assumed consulting assignments in sub-Sahara Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia for the World Bank, the African Development Bank as well as UN Agencies. She was involved in the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) Window 2 for South Africa. She also previously worked for the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) as a Principal Investment Officer, and she was involved in the institutional establishment of the Green Fund (Climate Finance Unit). Eugenia also worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB Power) as an Energy Economist, as well as for the Zimbabwe Power Company as an Investment Officer. Her skills include power generation planning, energy sector project preparation, due diligence, feasibility studies and climate finance.

She holds an MSc Renewable Energy Development from Heriot Watt University (UK), a Masters’ Development Finance from Stellenbosch (South Africa) and a BSc Economics (Honours) from the University of Zimbabwe.
