Ahmed Mushfiq Mobarak is a Professor of Economics at the Yale School of Management and the founder and faculty director of the Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE). 

A development economist with interests in environmental issues, Mushfiq conducts field experiments that explore ways to induce people in developing countries to adopt technologies or behaviours that are likely to be welfare improving.  

His ongoing research projects are in Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, India, Kenya, Nepal, and Malawi. His research has been published in journals across disciplines, including Econometrica, Science, The Review of Economic Studies, and the American Political Science Review and Demography, as well as being covered by the New York Times, The Economist, Science, NPR, Wired.com, the Wall Street Journal, the BBC, and The Times. 

Mushfiq has a PhD and an MA from the University of Maryland at College Park and a BA from Macalester College.
