This report provides a brief introduction to the Zambian power sector before diving into the details of the Scaling Solar and GET FiT solar photovoltaic (PV) auction programmes - both of which have broken African price records - to understand the full array of choices that were made around the design and implementation of these solar auctions in Zambia, while simultaneously drawing out the key lessons for the region.
