Kiros is a lecturer at Mekelle Institute of Technology-Mekelle University (MIT-MU). His research interests are computer networking particularly in relation to cyber security, and also data protection, security compliance, and secure system design.

He has a BSc degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology (MIT), Ethiopia, and an MSc diploma in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications track from the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands.
