The political economy of electricity access: Lessons from Mozambique

This Energy Insight paper discusses the issue of electricity access as a key development challenge in the Global South.

It presents two aspects of the electricity access challenge. The first part outlines the difficulties and opportunities of expanding grid access to improve electricity service provision to the poorest people globally, and the second explores the complexity of the political and justice implications of electricity access provision, with reference to an in-depth case of Mozambique.
